FDNY Helps Mental Health Patient

On the corner of 187th and Cambreleng a possible mental patient was in a drug induced rant. Although the individual was not violent, bystanders were scared and asked him to sit down on a chair.

FDNY from the 88th came quick to check on the individual but called in back up with their ambulance. The gentleman was asked to step into the vehicle where he was taken to seek medical attention.

This is a very different outcome than the recent NYPD situation using delay force on mental health patient Deborah Danner. The Police Sergeant in that case is currently placed on modified duty and condemn by both the Mayor and Police Chief.
